Welcome to agilitycresties website, this site is all about Chinese Crested dogs lovingly known as "Cresties".

On this site you can find out the history behind the Chinese Crested dogs, and about the sport that my two Cresties Fluffy (hairless) & Acer (Powder Puff) compete in Agility.

My Chinese Crested dog and Me

I have competed in Agility since I was 15 years old with my first dog a Poodle X Jack Russell. Since then I have owned 2 Collies, a German Shepherd and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Labrador. I became interested in Chinese Crested dogs after seeing them at Discover Dogs. I found my first Hairless Chinese Crested advertised locally in a free paper, his owners wanted to re-home him so I took him on; he was called ‘Fluffy’. Fluffy is now 6 years old and my first proper Agility dog.

I began competing in Agility with Fluffy in 2003 and he won me out of ‘Mini Starters’ (now Grade 1) in 2006. He has since gained numerous places including a 1^st this year in Grade 3 Jumping.

Acer In 2005 I considered having another small dog and went back to the Chinese Crested. This time I chose a Powderpuff from a breeder who lived locally and am now the proud owner of a Konishiki Chinese Crested, ‘Konishiki Fluffball’ or Acer to those who know us.

Acer began competing in Agility toward the end of 2006. He has not been the easiest dog to train and we have had a few hiccups on the way. I did a few breed shows when he was younger but was disheartened by it all and have since stuck to Agility. Acer has had a great 2007 season winning into Grade 4 at an Open KC Show in June and winning a Grade 4-5 Combined Agility class at an Open KC Show in October. Acer will begin the 2008 season as a Grade 5 dog. Kiya
